July 4th in Tucson Arizona

Fireworks, Parades and After Parties
By Tony Ray I June 28, 2016
Forth of July is right around the corner– Do you know where you’ll be celebrating yet?
Here are some of the great things going on in Tucson.

Monday July, 4, 2016

“A” Mountain Downtown is the official City of Tucson firework extravaganza.
This free annual 2016 fireworks show can be seen from a front row spot in downtown Tucson, but also from many other of parts of the city as well. This means you can get creative when finding this year’s perfect spot to watch the firework show. The show should start around 9 pm if the monsoon rains don’t try and put a damper on the event, like they have infamously done for the past two years! Look towards downtown and to the west and if it’s raining, you can enjoy the rain show first and hopefully the fireworks will start after.

Marana: Star Spangled Spectacular 2nd annual party in the park.

The town of Marana is hosting it’s own firework show complete with food trucks, activities for families and music. The event will be held at Silverbell Park. Admission is free and it is from 5:00-9:30 pm.

Oro Valley July Fourth Celebration brings free music, activities and fireworks to July 4th.

It is at the James D. Kreigh Park. Admission is free and it starts at 5:00 pm. The Oro Valley fireworks show will starts at 9:00 pm and is provided by the Hilton El Conquistador Resort.

Hilton Tucson El Conquistador sponsors the fireworks display for the town Oro Valley.

You could view them from the park or for a more elegant experience you can enjoy them from the hotel. At the hotel, guests are treated to a barbeque buffet and live local music from Reunion on the golf course. This event is ticketed and tickets are $55 for adults and $25 for children 5-12. Children under four are free. For registered hotel guests, admission to the Stars & Stripes Extravaganza is $49 for adults and $20 for children 5-12, free for children under four. For those looking to make the weekend a holiday staycation with an overnight stay at Hilton Tucson El Conquistador, room rates start at $139 with a two-night minimum requirement and includes access to additional resort guest programming that includes daily poolside activities from 8:30am to 8:00pm – family hikes, cooking classes, stargazing, fireside s’mores, family yoga, desert animal encounters, and more.

Mt. Lemmon does not have a fireworks show because of fire regukations but they do have a 4th of July Parade.
The annual Mt. Lemmon July 4th Parade is held at noon. The road is closed to traffic from 11:00 am through 2:30 pm so get there early because the main road to Summerhaven is blocked before the parade starts. The Summerhaven shops and hiking spots will be open. Dogs are welcome on many of the trails!

8th Annual Fourth of July 5K Freedom Run/Walk

The 5K is on the morning of July 4th. Registration is at 5:30 am and it costs $20-$30. Some of the proceeds go to the That Others May Live Foundation, which provides critical support, scholarships, and immediate tragedy assistance for the families of United States Air Force Rescue Heroes who are killed or severely wounded in operational or training missions.
Kino Stadium will host a 4th of July Diamonds in the Sky event with a baseball game and their own fireworks show.

Watch the Tucson Saguaros baseball team take on the Roswell Invaders. Game begins at 7 pm and Fireworks will follow. Cost is $4 general admission, Kids 5-and-under free. $15 group tickets. All tickets purchased in advance include free parking.

Downtown El Mercado San Agustín Public Market will host music, dancing and food options.

The Mercado is right next to “A” Mountain. You can go listen to The Cochise County All-Stars perform at 6:00 pm and watch the Grupo Coatlicue dancers. Then once the sun goes down, DJ Chairez performs through the “A” Mountain firework show.

Downtown Hotel Congress will host their Saturdaze Dance Party after the firework show.

DJ’s DJ Bob Felix, Sid the Kid, Jalph and Andrew Shuta will start spinning at DJ’s at 10:00 pm, admission is free and is reserved for attendees 21-and-older.
