Tucson Pride Presents: Before Stonewall

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Tucson Pride will be premiering the newly restored “Before Stonewall: The Making of a Gay and Lesbian Community.”

This documentary investigates national cultural perceptions of homosexuality before the event, looking back on previous decades, particularly in regard to conflicts with police and censorship. In addition to interviews with activists and scholars, the film includes the reflections of renowned writer Allen Ginsberg.

The event starts at 6PM with a Social Hour & Mini-Resource Fair.  This is immediately followed at 7PM with Dignitaries and Proclamation.  Last. but certainly not least, the film screening starts at 7:30PM.
