Are you a person with an LGBT or related identity who has ever served in the US Armed Forces?
We invite you to participate in a study focusing on your health behaviors and life experiences as a Veteran. But specifically, with an LGBT or related identity. Please keep reading if you think you want to take part in LGBT Veterans Research.
Why Does LGBT Veteran Research Matter?
The goal for every veteran study is to better understand the experiences of veterans. They come from all backgrounds and so promoting their health and well-being, including those with LGBT or related identities is important. We have a special interest in hearing the diverse voices within our communities, so please consider it.
The delivery of health care to citizens is a critical issue in our country and it’s important to make sure that veterans with an LGBTQ+ identity are being included in this conversation. Please consider taking part in this important research opportunity if you serve now or previously in the armed forces so you can make sure your experience is counted!
The VA Puget Sound Health Care System is conducting this study. For example, it will consist of completing a confidential, web-based questionnaire every 9 months for approximately 2 years. There will be a total of 4 questionnaires. All LGBT Veteran Research activities take place online, with no in-person visits required, and is completely confidential. We will have a clearer picture of LGBT health as a result of this study.
