FREE CONCERT: Mariachi Aztlán de Pueblo High School

In honor of Hispanic Heritage month, Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, 2023, our Multicultural Growth Committee of Catalina UMC is offering a FREE concert of mariachi music. Mariachi Aztlán de Pueblo High School. Come join us! JOHN CONTRERAS, Music Director of Mariachi Aztlán de Pueblo High School, is a Tucson native, who began playing Mariachi music at an early age.  As a professional musician, John performed all over the world.  John has brought that professionalism to the performances of the Mariachi Aztlán as music director at Pueblo Magnet High School. These young musicians learn that through discipline, practice, and long rehearsals, success becomes possible.  For his dedication in educating his students, Mr. Contreras became the 2021 recipient of the AZ Governor’s Arts Award in Education.  Mariachi Aztlán de Pueblo High School was invited to perform at the 2023 Fourth of July Parade in Washington, D.C.
