Best decision you’ll ever make: time travel to last weekend, jump in your car and drive almost 2 hours on I-10 to the Benson exit. You’ll find the most amazing little town you’ve never heard of. And if you have heard of it, why are you still keeping the secret?! 😉 Adorable town, fun friends, gay pride; Oh My!
Bisbee Gay Pride 2017 Reunion Tour
Each year, we descend upon the quaint and intimate little town where another smiling face is around every corner. It has to be the friendliest place on Earth. In times like these, we could all use a dose kindness in our lives.
Seriously, look at the fun faces and amazing spaces Bisbee has to offer! Our reunion tour held tight to the Tombstone Canyon area, but there are all types of nooks and crannies (do people say that anymore?) to visit and explore. I could lose an entire weekend in the arts and crafts stores alone!
What To Do at Bisbee Gay Pride 2017
Gay Pride in Bisbee is a weekend of insane events, but Darren and I had to distill that entire duration into one night, so our night was a little more intense than we expected. We started around 5pm at Cafe Roca, one of our favorite restaurants on the planet. I don’t know why they don’t have one in Downtown Tucson??
I knew we were in for a long night, so I tried to pace myself with some delicious appetizers (the prosciutto wrapped artichoke is to die for). Darren had the most succulent lamb you’ve ever seen. We both enjoyed the nice lime sorbet.
Then we trekked over to Screaming Banshee Pizza (stop by the next time you’re in town, or even if you’re not, you’ll thank me later) and met up with what seemed like my entire contact list. Everyone was there, from Tucson regulars to friends I haven’t seen in years. It was all smiles and laughs and hugs and love; just my type of event.
The Night Cap
Around the time the clock struck 8pm, we found ourselves outside of the Copper Queen in this adorable fenced-off patio, sharing drinks and stories. The Lingerie Pub Crawl was going into full effect and costumed couples and sexy singles spilled into the streets. The bars were well decorated and the entire event had a festive atmosphere that encouraged you to leave your inhibitions in your hotel room.
You owe it to yourself to make the drive next year to Bisbee Gay Pride. You’ll be with all of your friends, you’ll make some new ones, and you’ll have a wild time! We’ll see you at the Copper Queen!
Have a great day,
TonyRay 🙂
