Musician Namoli Brennet born male and transitioned to female simply identifies as “trans” but there is nothing simple about the talent of Namoli.
Her songs have an edge, a rawness and a gritty realness that steers clear of typical singer/songwriter territory. She is a talented musician and plays nearly everything. Her influences range from Shawn Colvin and Jonatha Brooke to Patty Griffin and Joni Mitchell. She engineers and produces her own CDs.
Since 2002, she’s self-produced and engineered 6 CDs starting with Boy in a Dress; her 7th CD and most recently, Until From This Dream I Wake. Along with writing several commissions for Chorus & Piano and scoring 2 plays her music has also been featured in the upcoming documentary Out in the Silence.
Namoli will be performing at gay pride on the Main Stage at 2:30pm
Tucson Pride is October 8th and 9th. For more info, see the Tucson Pride 2010 page.
