New Moon Tucson Under New Management
Tucson New Moon, formerly Pulse Tucson, Coyote Moon, and Howl At The Moon, is under exciting new management and is proud to stay a huge part of our GLBT community. Moving beyond it’s traditionally quaint ambiance, New Moon will offer a more hip, modern atmosphere with an emphasis on live music, dancing, and exotic drinks. New Moon also provides exciting events like Karaoke, Open Mic Night, Game Night, Comedy Shows, and a whole lot more. Come for the awesome drink specials, but stay for the stripper pole! See you at New Moon!
New Moon, formerly known as Coyote Moon and Howl at the moon is a sports pub and dance bar.
New Moon is just a stones throw away from a couple of the other gay bars. It is located near the freeway in a retail shopping center with plenty of parking.
I have to admit, I’m not a country boy myself, but the times I have gone, when it was Howl at the Moon, I have had a great time.
They have quite a few things to do there:
They have pool tables in the back if you like to play pool.
Of course they have dancing, country that is. Two stepping and they even teach country line dancing as well. You’ll have to contact them for the dates and times.
If you like poker, they have tournaments, again, contact the bar for dates and times.
As you can see in the photos, they have several TV’s at the bar. If you just want to rest your feet and have a drink the bar is perfect. I think you can even play a video quiz game if you want.
Last but not least, they also serve food. Burgers, fries, chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, well, you get the gist. I love to eat so any bar that serves food has done right by me.
Always here to help,
Tony Ray Cool
2012 Update from Michael:
Hey Tony Ray,
Thanks for following up. The New Moon is much more eclectic these days–although there’s still some element of the country/western flavor, I call it more of a sports bar/show club.
We’re a very friendly bar, no matter how you identify! The New Moon appeals to a wide audience, so even if you were here a year ago or more, don’t hesitate coming to check out the “new” Moon! Food, spirits, dancing, pool, darts, TouchTunes jukebox—you name it, we got it. The old wooden dance floor was replaced with a full stage–and we are Tucson’s only gay bar with a stripper pole… 🙂
EVERY WEEK we have something special going on – live music, benefits, special events, etc. For example, this month in addition to our regular weekly activities: Kenya Michaels from RuPaul’s Drag Race appears tonight. Too Much Information (classic rock & blues) appears Saturday, March 17. Britney Star “Stars Come Out at Night” show will be Saturday, March 24th. The incredible duo God-dess and She will be at the Moon on Friday, March 30, and Sabra Faulk and band will be here on Saturday, March 31. (And that’s just the next 3 weeks!)
We dont have a website, but we have a facebook page:
