I hope your Memorial Holiday was fun, safe and relaxing. Although many did relax, BBQ’d, and drank some beverages. I hope some people took some time to reflect on the many men and women who gave their lives, served or are currently enlisted in America’s Service.
Both of my father’s served in the Air Force and many of my other relatives entered into the Navy, Marines or National Guard. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for our country.
I’m a very proud son, who have great father figures to look up too. Even though I am in my early 30’s, they still remind me that I’m never too old to be taken over their knee’s.
To follow up on my travel plans, I wanted to badly to go to the Big Apple two weekends ago, but sadly, the gods of fate had other intentions. The two nights before my arrival, my friend who I planned on visiting and staying with had the sewer line break in his basement.
Apparently, he converted the basement into a separate living area/bedroom and that was where I was going to be sleeping. After hearing of the unfortunate circumstance/ and now pricey plumbing bill for my friend.
I told him I would be happy to sleep on the couch somewhere, anywhere in NYC! But to add insult to injury, when I tried to book my flight for the next day, there were not seats available for the next 2 to 3 days.
Completely booked solid, on several airlines actually. So my NYC trip will be postponed for now, but I did intend on eventually making it there sometime over the summer.
As for now I am currently on a United CRJ700 on my way to Oklahoma to visit my Abuelita! Its been too long since I last saw her and felt her loving hugs. I hope these few days will be a great time to reconnect and make more wonderful memories.
