If you saw our earlier update about Tucson Pride moving to November, we have a new—and important—change to share. Tucson Pride has announced the Parade and Festival will shift from November 22, 2025 to February 21, 2026. Smaller Pride-related events are still expected in November to keep our community connected, but the full parade and festival will now happen in February.
We know this update will upend plans for many of you who arranged flights, lodging, and time off around the November dates. It’s hard to have a much-anticipated weekend shift again, and we genuinely feel for everyone affected. We’re sharing what we know so far so you can plan with confidence and stay connected to the community events still happening this fall.
Why Tucson Pride Moved to February
Parade logistics & public safety. The November 22 date overlapped with El Tour de Tucson, one of the city’s largest annual events. Both require extensive road closures and public safety staffing, and Tucson Pride would not have been able to secure a parade permit for that weekend. Rather than hold a festival without a parade, a core part of the celebration, the organization chose February so both parade and festival can happen together.
Nonprofit status housekeeping. Missed filings in 2021–2022 temporarily suspended Tucson Pride’s 501(c)(3) status. A CPA firm is finalizing the paperwork for reinstatement; in the meantime, Tucson Pride has communicated transparently with sponsors and donors and is exploring a fiscal sponsorship arrangement so donations and sponsorships can continue responsibly.
Funding headwinds, volunteer capacity, and continuity. Like many LGBTQIA+ organizations, Tucson Pride is navigating a tougher sponsorship climate while operating with an all-volunteer board. The extra time helps stabilize operations and rebuild leadership capacity so the event we love returns at full strength. (Tucson Pride is, and has long been, an all-volunteer-run organization.)
What’s still happening in November. Tucson Pride plans to host smaller Pride-related events this November to keep the spirit alive and the community connected while the big day moves to winter. Follow their Facebook to stay updated!
To Everyone Who Booked Early: We See You, and We Appreciate You
If you locked in travel for November, adjusted work schedules, or coordinated group trips, this hurts. You put your trust in Tucson Pride and in Tucson itself. You rallied friends, snagged flights, reserved Airbnbs, and built itineraries around a weekend that suddenly changed. That’s frustrating, and for some, costly.
Please know that your advance planning is a vote of confidence in our community. It’s a signal that Tucson Pride matters to you enough to invest your time and resources. That means everything to this city.
If you’re able to re-book for February 21, 2026, we can’t wait to welcome you back for a full parade and festival experience. If you can’t, we understand, and we hope the November mini-events will give you a reason to celebrate with us, whether in person or from afar. For those navigating refunds or credits: we hope your airline or host will meet you with flexibility, and we appreciate your patience.
Above all, thank you for sticking with Tucson and with Tucson Pride through another curveball. Your dedication keeps this celebration alive.
Our Friends at Tucson Pride: You’ve Got This
To the Tucson Pride Board and volunteers: we see the weight you’re carrying and the scrutiny that comes with it. Moving an entire parade and festival—twice—is nobody’s Plan A. But there’s courage in choosing the path that protects parade permits, public safety, and long-term sustainability. It’s the harder call, and the right one.
As you steer toward February, please keep communicating often and clearly so sponsors, vendors, and attendees can plan with confidence. Many in our community have already sacrificed to be here; they’re ready to rally again when they can trust the destination and the timeline.
Tucson Pride is historic, Arizona’s first and oldest LGBTQIA+ organization founded in 1977, and Tucson is known for supporting us. Lead with transparency, invite help boldly, and let’s meet the moment together so February is not just a comeback worthy of our city’s Pride legacy.

From all of us at GayTucson: thank you for your patience, your grit, and your love for this community. Tucson Pride has weathered tough seasons before and come back brighter, let’s make February the celebration our city deserves.
