We are already half way through 2009, and boy, this year is flying by. Usually “flying by” indicates “really busy”and I am happy to say, that this is the case. Real estate has been more exciting and challenging than ever. And I love it.
Buyers are purchasing (and some are getting $8000!), sellers are selling and inventory has dropped big time from last year. Tucson appears to be making a come back.
Here are the numbers:
As of June 2009, there were 6,440 homes for sale (active inventory) which is a 26% decrease from June 2008.
There were 1,122 homes sold (sold inventory) in June 2009, which is an 8% increase from June 2008.
The median price of sold homes was $165,500 for the month of June 2009; this is down 17% from June 2008.
Buyer activity has increased significantly. New properties under contract are up 57% from June 2008
