When our friends at Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network (TIHAN) put out a call to action, Tucson’s Gay Community answers that call. We have just been asked to donate bars of soap and bottles of body wash for our friends suffering the affliction of HIV/AIDS. With that in mind, next time you are at Bed Bath & Beyond or Target, please think of the community and pick up an extra bar of soap. All donations go to support the TIHAN CarePartner program.
What is the CarePartner Program?
TIHAN CarePartners are our friends and fellow Tucsonans whom currently live with HIV/AIDS. Thankfully, we get less and less new cases of HIV infection and life-expectancy for those living with AIDS is longer and more fruitful than ever. These treatments are expensive, however, and many patients require just a bit of help making ends meet.
That’s where the TIHAN CarePartner program steps in. CarePackages are distributed monthly to CarePartners, each consisting of:
- toiletries
- paper towels
- shampoo
- soap
- toothpaste/toothbrush
- laundry detergent
- deodorant
- household cleaning supplies
- feminine hygiene products
- and much more…
These odds and ends can make a huge difference to someone struggling with a life-changing affliction. Your giving makes it easier for them to concentrate on their fight against HIV/AIDS.
‘TIS The Season
This holiday season, while you are out buying the newest Xbox for your nephew or iPhone for your sister, take a moment to think about what is truly important to people. You have the opportunity to materially improve the life of someone who really needs and wants your help. Providing that help is as simple as tossing a few extra items into your shopping cart. Help TIHAN continue providing great services by donating soap or body wash today! Donations can be dropped off at the TIHAN office M-F between 8:30am to 4:30pm. Thanks again!
