Looking Back, Moving Forward

It has been a long while since I have blogged something. I do apologize for that.

With midterms, final projects and then final exams all within the last 6 wks of the term. I was busy and stressed. Thats not even including my holiday shopping, decorating and dealing with a pregnant sister.

Good God, I have wanted nothing more this whole month other than to get more then 5hrs sleep in one night. Thats all I really wanted for myself. I suppose one could say I got it, at least for one night anyway, even after the term ended on the 18th. I realize that when asking the universe for favors; one must be specific. Regardless of what we all want, wish or plan; life always has own master plan for us.

This holiday season came and went, thank goodness! My Christmas was simple and relaxing. Originally, we were supposed to have family visit us from out of state. But a few days before their date of arrival, we lost a cousin who had long been ill.

This changed our plans and understandably so. So we ended up spending our Christmas with ourselves. We opened our presents, shared laughs and memories and spent the rest of the day snacked on our various festival foods of breads, cookies, dips and candy. We had a great time. It was simple, cozy and surrounded in love. Couldn’t ask for more than that.

I got a even better gift than I was expecting. My mother broke one very specific boundary that I put down 13yrs ago, which I told her she is forbidden from buying clothes for me. Not to suggest that she has bad taste or anything. We just have a difference of ….style. I also received some PRADA cologne which is called ” (Italian words I can’t say)..Intense”. I tried for the first time to check out the scent of it and good Lord! All I have to say is the name fits. My lovely cousin got me my very own rooster!! I was thrilled!! I’m so going to love cooking with this thing. I got some other things as well, but those were by far my favorite gifts.

But the best gift came on the 28th. My Nephew, Jordan, was born!! I am now a proud Uncle/Tio. Oh the plans I have for this kid. I’m going to spoil him with loud mechanical toys, buy him tons of clothes and presents. Take him on my journeys when I travel. I’m going to be the cool Tio! teehee

So this basically wraps up what my holidays were like. How about for yourself?
