We know that when you’re looking for a REALTOR® you probably want to see some real estate accreditation. Something more than just to know they’re a gay REALTOR®. Here are some of the real estate awards, business accreditation, and certifications as well as recognition that Daren and myself have received over the years.
Real Estate Education, Certifications & Designations
National Association of REALTOR® Official Certification: REALTORS® that achieve this certification are trained in diversity sensitivity and how it applies to U.S. Fair Housing Laws. This enables agents to work successfully in a multi-cultural rapidly changing market.
Accredited Buyers Representative: this designation is given to real estate agents who focus on working with client-buyers during every step of the process. These agents know how to handle any issue that might arise during the buying process. Less than 2% of agents in the U.S. have this certification.
Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist: this is the gold standard in luxury home buying certifications. 4 hours of training in addition to selling 3 luxury homes in a 24-month period. Only 1.5% of REALTORS® achieve this certification.
Eco Broker: This designation is given to agents that are up to date on environmental issues influencing the real estate market. Eco Brokers know how to address issues like indoor air quality, and mold. Any other issues that may arise in the home buying process.
Certified Residential Specialist: Requires 16 hours of Residential Real Estate Council education, being a licensed agent for 10 or more years, and 150 transactions total or an average of $1 million per year with at least 40 transactions. This designation is highly sought after. 1.5% of agents achieve this specialty.
Green: NAR’s Green Designation is designed for agents looking to learn about issues of energy efficiency and sustainability in real estate.
Graduate REALTOR® Institute: This designation is awarded to agents who not only have the fundamentals of real estate down pat but have also gained a deeper understanding of the technical subjects of buying and selling homes. This certification requires 12 courses taken within a 5-year period.
