I have exciting news to share, but I must be honest, this is more of a personal thrill for me. After living in my house for full year, I can finally say that I am actually breaking down boxes and throwing crap away that I have held onto for years. I feel so rejuvenated and finally at peace in my own home.
I can actually enter my home and not see walls of moving boxes. Just for the record, this whole year, I have not had ANY friends due to the obvious said reasons.
Now that my lovely prima has moved in with me, I finally have a helping hand that kicks my ass into gear. As many of you know I work full time and am also a full time student. During breaks from school, all I want to do is simply sleep for the whole duration of the term break. Not going to lie, I know myself and my flaws. I own them.
When she moved in I instantly thought two things, great my awesome prima is now my roomie….and more damn boxes in the house! But she totally put me to shame by having her room 95% completely unpacked and set up with her first week of living there. I still can’t say the same thing.
I’m still stuck on trying to blend my bedroom into a studio workspace and a peaceful escape from the world. It’s not been easy and is still a work in progress. However, catching the occasional re-run of ColorSplash is totally inspirational and get really gets the blood flowing…but for other reasons, obviously! Hi David xoxo 😉
So over the past week or so we have been doing room by room, and doing what our paychecks allow, until the next one. It’s been a long process, but it’s coming close to the end. If only college went by as quickly. Overall, I’m so blessed and happy that my prima is living with me. She is totally down to earth, and such a warm caring person.
Since she is also still new to Tucson, she has been exploring the city when time allows. She is making friends and learning about our lovely drivers of this town. I’m expecting the call from the police any day now about how she was involved in some road-rage incident, lol.
Recently, we had a talk about getting a dog for our home. I mentioned how I would love a medium size lap dog, like a sheltie or something close to that size. The woman then proceeds to tell me how she wants a damn horse!! She wanted like a Great Dane or some kind close to that size. Instantly, I’m thinking about the size of those droppings I would be cleaning and thought no. But then again, I would feel extremely secure know that when I was gone at work, she had a dog of that size to keep her safe. I still torn on that issue, but we both agreed that we need to get our home in order before we even get a dog.
With my birthday right around the corner, I am thinking that I it would be nice to have my first party at the house to be my birthday/housewarming party. That way I could get double the presents!!! (big grin) But we shall see, I’m still in recovery from this past summer school schedule. But I can still dream.
I’ll keep you in the news as my spleen goes out and hemorrhage something from all this slave labor. Where is the damn maid, when you need her! She is so FIRED!!
