Movies Remakes

As I have mentioned before I do consider myself to be something of a movie fanatic. So when I heard that there is soon to be a remake of “Red Dawn” coming out soon. I must admit I felt a bit conflicted.

Firstly, its yet another movie that is being remade from my childhood. Even I have to admit, this is getting a bit old of seeing every other movie coming out being another remake from the 80’s.

Secondly, I looking up this newer version coming out and the story has been changed some. I hate it when they do that. Is nothing sacred anymore?!?

Lastly, I can’t help but wonder why we as paying audiences don’t do more about this. After all, the studio heads only have the money and power that they have because we give it to them.

I remember when that writer’s strike was going on in Hollywood and how that made the town stand still for several months.

Well apparently its still going on!!

Footloose was remade, but I will say it does look pretty interesting. Not sure the new soundtrack will have the glory of the its original, but we will have to wait and see. I don’t like to actually judge a movie without seeing it first, so I will keep…ok, I will try…to keep my bias’s to myself for now. (wink!)

I saw two trailer of soon to be released films coming out. The first is an indie..I think.. called “Another Earth” and “Happy Feet 2”. The first Another Earth looks really, really interesting and I like, no, LOVE how it seems to be an original story. I think this film will get people talking for awhile or, at least, at the SunDance film festival. Look it up for yourself and tell me what you think.

Happy Feet 2 looks like it may be just as good as the first. Sadly, and obviously, Brittany Murphy will not be voicing the character of Gloria. For this sequel, the talent behind the character’s voice will be none other than Pink. Really looking forward to this one! Can’t wait for that soundtrack. The first one was awesome so I bet the 2nd will be just as good.

It would be great if the movie industry would come back to Arizona like it did in our state’s famous past. Lord knows it would help our economy more.

Arizona used to be a popular favorite of the tinsel town, and not just because of Old Tucson. Believe it or not, but our state is quite unique. There are many parts of Arizona that actually resemble many different parts of the world. Which is why producers and studio heads used to always come here. Who knew, right!
