Contact Devereux if you have a background working with children or adults with complex needs. Devereux is currently recruiting Therapeutic Foster Parents for children and adults in the Tucson area.
Why should I get involved?
Without positive adult role models in a family-like setting, many foster youths will end up in group shelters, incarcerated, homeless, pregnant, dependent on drugs and alcohol, or worse, dead. Your skills can make a difference right now! If you would prefer caring for adults, we need supportive homes for our adult population as well. Our clients are mentally ill and need help with basic living skills.
What skills do I need?
Our therapeutic foster parents are financially stable, patient, flexible, and have an incredible sense of humor. Also, you need a minimum of one year of experience working with children and/or adults with complex issues. Our Devereux Therapeutic Foster Parents are single, partnered, cohabitating, or married, we take all types.
Will I be paid or is it a volunteer opportunity?
You will receive up to $3000 non-taxable reimbursement per child, per month. You must first go through training and become a licensed therapeutic foster provider.
Why choose Devereux?
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health has been providing services to Arizona children and families since 1967. Devereux was the first organization in the state to receive the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) “All Children-All Families” in 2012 for our LGBTQ foster care program.
They have maintained the seal and in 2019, were the first and only organization in the state to receive the Innovator Seal for our continued work in supporting equality in healthcare for the LGBTQ community.
