It is easy to forget the day to day struggles of the transgender community.
Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Let’s consider the difficulties of modern life for these valuable people in our society. They are commonly stared at groped, insulted and humiliated in so many ways just because their bodies are considered different by the vast majority.
These warm people, friends, and aquaintances need our help to be free to be themselves.
We need to stand up for the rights of others as we stand up for our own rights.
We offer respect to those who have fallen. We offer courage to those who go on.
Salute, for this is your day.
